The “Real” Backstory

As an only child, the only steady companions I had were my toys. They were a familiar face and a motivator to keep going so I could see them the next day.

After graduating high school, I became severely depressed. I had left my retail job and had no thought of what my purpose could be. I couldn't even think of a job that I could do without hating my life forever.

Then I began to think.

What makes me happy? What is the one thing I could see myself doing for the next 60 years?

Sewing had become a recent hobby of mine. When I started dating my boyfriend, I had only made stuffed animals out of socks. For Christmas of that year, I decided to tackle a big challenge - create a legitimate plushie. Lo and behold, Judd was born! Although he is not perfect, he inspires me to keep living and pursue my passion for toymaking.

I later found a job as a seamstress for an awning company. Although I did enjoy it (most times), it's not what I was meant to do.

This is what I am meant for. I was made to create.

P.S. - You are never too old for toys or anything childlike.
